A report of a woman being held against her will last week turned into a wild high-speed chase that began when a suspect drove up onto a Washington police cruiser.
The incident happened just before 10 p.m. Jan. 7 when Kennewick police responded to a call concerning who was being held against her will, according to the department. Officers found the suspected Range Rover and discovered that it had been stolen.
While trying to stop the Range Rover, the driver put the vehicle in reverse and drove up on the hood of a police cruiser. The driver then sped away with police giving chase.
Stop sticks were deployed during the pursuit, puncturing the Range Rover's tires. The driver continued driving until finally stopping.
Police arrested the 14-year-old suspect without incident. He was charged with suspicion of felony assault, possession of a stolen vehicle and driving with a suspended license.
According to KEPR-TV, the woman was rescued, and no injuries were reported.
